The BXL Next Gen Showcase is designed to give the next generation of barbers an opportunity to step beyond the classroom and showcase their talent on a professional platform. Ten emerging barbers will be selected from barber schools and training programs to represent the future of the industry. Contestants will compete live in front of fellow students, educators, industry professionals, barbers, families, and the Gulf Coast barber community. This is more than a competition. It is an opportunity for upcoming professionals to gain exposure, experience, confidence, connections, and recognition while representing their school and their craft.
Contestants will demonstrate their technical ability by completing a professional fade while being evaluated on overall precision, quality, blending, detailing, and finished presentation. Competitors may execute either a Temp Fade or Mid Fade.
The goal is not simply to finish the haircut—it is to demonstrate the quality, control, professionalism, and attention to detail expected from the next generation of professional barbers.
The BXL Next Gen Showcase is specifically for emerging barbers. Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:
Must currently be enrolled in a recognized barber school, barber college, academy, or approved barber training program.
Must have graduated from barber school within the previous six months and hold a current barber license.
Proof of enrollment, graduation date, and/or licensing may be required before final acceptance.
At the conclusion of the competition, one contestant will be crowned the 2027 BXL Next Gen Showcase Champion. The champion will represent the level of precision, quality, professionalism, and potential that BXL wants to recognize in the next generation of the barbering industry.
